Free Stuff That Can Be Earned By Doing Surveys

Posted on by

I enjoy taking online surveys because it gives me the opportunity to easily earn money in my free time and it does not require me to do anything more than what I do in my normal day and week. I answer questions about the things I do, the things I buy, and the things I like. And, I get rewarded for it!

While most people think of these online surveys as a way to get some extra cash, there are other things you can earn by taking surveys. Free stuff comes in a variety of sizes and packages and I have gotten some really interesting stuff in addition to cash:

Gift Cards – These can be for individual scores such as Amazon, Macy’s, Victoria's Secret, or Wal-Mart. I have used Wal-Mart and Amazon gift cards that I have earned by taking online surveys to help make birthday and Christmas shopping a little easier and less painful on the wallet.

Voucher Points – If you are a frequent traveler you can find surveys that offer rewards in the form of points that can be added to your travel accounts. Get rewarded with free air miles or discounts on hotels and car rentals to help make your next trip easier and more affordable. My family has used travel-related rewards for weekend trips. Even though I'm not earning an official paycheck, it feels great to be providing for my family this way.

Drawing Entries – Some survey sites have ongoing sweepstakes and contests that you can enter. The more surveys you take, the more entries you get. Some sites offer you one automatic entry for every survey you fill out and others let you redeem points for additional entries into these contests. I have done this a few times and I belong to several sites where you get the automatic entries. I have not ever won anything from them so I would advise against wasting your points on them if you have the option to redeem your points for something else. If you get automatic entries, then that is fine, but leave it at that, and if you win consider it a nice bonus!

Charity Donations – Some survey sites allow you to redeem your points to donate money to a charity. This is an easy way to give to a cause you care about. I have done this for March of Dimes and Ronald McDonald House. I care about these charities, but do not always have money on hand to give them. So when I have gotten a few bucks through surveys I will at times give to one of the charities as my way of giving back.

These are some of the most common rewards, other than cash, that you can get from taking online surveys in your spare time. Depending on what you are wanting and what your goals are, these can be very satisfying rewards that you and the family can enjoy.
