Toluna: Brand New Community Site
19. Your2Cents $90 (Minimum pay out: 60,000 points or $20) (Joined: 2008-03-01) (product tests) ($90 rec’d)
Toluna has been very consistent in sending me $1 to $6 surveys, many of which I qualify for. I have earned $90 from them since March 1, 2008. You get a $1 bonus for filling out each of the 13 profiles, which are credited as soon as you complete your first survey. There is a $20 minimum cash out (60,000 points) and they do not currently offer PayPal. Occasionally they will send you a free product test. They also have quarterly $5000 sweepstakes drawings.
Toluna’s new site now offers a community experience that allows us to earn points by giving 80-word opinions (100 points), taking polls (15 points) and also by creating polls and opinion questions. There are also sponsored surveys that are worth 120 to 300 points. You receive 500 points for referring a friend.
Toluna acquired Your2Cents earlier this year and is set to acquire Greenfield Online January 4, 2010 so we are not yet certain what the future holds.
Slow but OK
I used to like your2cents a lot better, now I get these emails from toluna. Don’t really care for it since the change. They points you need to cash out are high, and take a long time to achieve $10 bucks. I still do the surveys from time to time, usually on weekends if I am a bit bored. The surveys themselves are good, I just like to see my time and opinions being paid for a bit more. Would recommend this one more than some of the others though!
Very steady/positive site
Toluna was introduced to me because I had been a member of your 2 cents with whom they merged with. My overall experience with Toluna has been very positive. Toluna offers survey for points. A member will receive instant win emails stating that a survey is available usually for a $1-$3 prize amount and sometimes a $2-$5 amount. I was successful in completing many of these surveys. Also i am able to take sponsored polls and give opinions in 80-100 words for points. The points add up very quickly as they consistently offer many surveys.
Customer service is really good. They always get back to you within 3-7 days and work hard to answer your questions.
In January 2010 Toluna merged with Greenfield so I am not sure how this is going to affect the Toluna site. Since the merger the one negative I’ve noticed is that I no longer
receive instant win emails. A positive is if you go on their site you can take a number of surveys but they are now mostly in the 900-1500 point level which is equal to about 25-50 cents since 3,000 points equal $1.00. I am still forming my opinion to Toluna since the merger.
If Toluna stays consistent the way they were before their merger with Greenfield then I would definetly recommend this site as one of the premier survey sites to belong to.
I CAN ALMOST GAURANTEE YOU THAT I ONLY GET TO DO I IN 10 SURVEYS. I AM ALWAYS DISQUALIFED. WHY TAKE ALL MY INFORMATION TO RECEIVE MORE SURVEYS WHEN THEY BARELY USE ME. THIS DOESN’T MAKE SENSE AND CERTAINLY DOESN’T HELP ME GET POINTS.
I GET PLENTY OF SURVEYS, THAT IM NOT QUALIFED FOR. THANKS FOR LISTENING
Don't take their Surveys
Toluna is a rip off. They recently joined with that awful survey group, Greenfield
{
and things went from bad to worse.
You will complete a whole survey with Toluna and then get an ERROR message,
so they will get all the survey info from you, but won’t have to pay for any of it.
Another one of their tactics is to let you take the WHOLE survey and when you
click the SUBMIT your survey button, a screen pops up saying they’ve met their quota already. They get a full survey out of you either way and do not pay you.
And you can’t get any help from their “customer support” .
I’ve written them several times trying to resolve these survey ‘error’ problems.
Oh and when they recently joined up with Greenfield , they upped your cash
out level to 60,000 points. So you now need 60,000 points ($20) to cash out.
I did cash out right after Toluna joined up with Greenfield and made the changes
to their point system. Got paid through paypal with no problems.
But I stopped taking surveys for them back in early Jan 2010 because
of all the survey errors and them not resolving the problems.
There are a lot of other legitmate survey site out there , sign up with them
but stay away from Toluna!
They send you an auto reply but never resolve your problem.
Very legit, take on average about $1-3 surveys 3x daily! And sometimes high-paying (from $5-25)!
I’ve been a member since the end of October until now and I only took around 2-3 surveys per week (although offered more) and have already made $60.00 since! Each survey is an average of 15-30mins long and around $1-5 dollars each! Very legit; no exaggerations or promises to make absurd amounts of cash as a beginner! Just a professional fun sight where you can earn a great amount of extra cash in your spare time. It takes $20 to cash out and is completely free to join! Majority of surveys are multiple choice only but some include fun pictures, popular movie trailers, and drag and drop features! I would join if I were you, there’s honestly nothing to lose and I’ve been apart of many surveys sights this one is just so simple and legit.
Don't recommend
I was with Greenfield for years and since it’s been Toluna I’ve been very unhappy. First of all my computer won’t work for the surveys, have to use another computer. Secondly, they deducted 20,000 points from my account because they said I was inactive. I was never at any time inactive. As soon as I reach payout amount I’m canceling my account.
Going downhill
This used to be a decent survey company when it was Your2Cents and Toluna, before the merger with Greenfield. Since the merger, the frequency of surveys has gone up, but the number of surveys that I qualify for has gone down considerably. I used to qualify for approx. 20 – 25 % of their surveys, but now it is under 5 %. So, as a result the total number of surveys that I have qualified for, has gone down, even with the increased frequency. Furthermore, the incentives have gone down. You used to be able to earn 3000 points ($ 1.00) per 15 – 20 min, but now the majority of their surveys only reward you with 900 points ($ 0.30) per 15 – 20 min survey. And this low reward incentive is the lowest among the survey companies. There are surveys, which still reward you with 3000 points per 20 min, but about 1/3 fall in this catagory. And I never seem to qualify for those!! When this site was named “paid-online-surveys” (or so) Greenfield was one of the lowest rated survey companies and based on what I read in the reviews, I decided not to join them. Now I get to experience first hand, why Greenfield was rated so low, and I completely understand that now. Unfortunately, Toluna now uses Greenfiied methods and I do not really care for those. As soon as I qualify for the minimum cash out (60,000 points = $ 20.00) I will leave this company, but that might take me a while with these practices.
They are not as good as 2 cents o r Greenfield
They send me a lot of surverys that I don’t qualify for. No reason why. I get tired of giving them my name address etc etc, and not qualifying. Otherwise, I like them ok. I enjoy taking surveys while I’m watching something on tv. Otherwise, I pick my fingers. Thanks, Kathy
Steady for the serious.
Like many, I was hesitant after the merger with Greenfield. To be honest, I hated Greenfield surveys – Toluna had been fairly good on it’s own, so I sat back and watched for awhile to see which elements of each company would win out in the end.
Like many people have pointed out, the 900 point surveys are rather insulting. By the 60,000 points = $20 system, it means you’re only earning $0.30 cents for 10-25 minute surveys that would pay a dollar on most other sites.
BUT…there is good news. As Lee pointed out, the new Toluna site hosts sponsored polls and opinion topics that you can vote on each day (mainly during the work week I’m finding), and that’s been one of the greatest elements to my success. The points for sponsored elements range from 15 – 250 each, but only take a few seconds to complete. So while that may not seem like a lot, as far as time commitment vs. point value is concerned, I would rather just log in and answer a few quick questions twice a day than spend more time on the basic surveys; I find that I can make several hundred points each day just by doing these simple offers!
Also, you can earn up to 5,000 points a month by writing your own 80+ word opinion topics (each worth 100 points). If you like to write, this is a very easy way to build up points each month.
Finally, there is a key to getting more points for the surveys. Log into your member area and click on “My Surveys” (or follow the basic email invites you’re currently receiving about “a new way to take surveys!”) . You’ll be led to the current prompt page for new surveys. If you are offered a survey you don’t think is very valuable, just hit refresh! You’ll answer a new set of starter questions, and be offered a different survey. Do this until you find one worth your while. I rarely do the 900 point surveys (unless I’m bored and they are 10 minutes or less), but quite frequently find ones that pay 3,000 points or more. In fact, I just completed one for 12,000 points this past week, which pushed me over the cash-out threshold yesterday!
If you follow these suggestions, you can gradually accrue points with a reasonable amount of effort spent. It’s not quite as lucrative as other survey sites, but steady enough that I’m sticking with it!
very discusted with toluna
I was a GreenField member and had my account changed to Toluna. Since then i cannot log into my account and i have had no reply from Toluna over my problem in months. Their first and only email reply to me stated that they were having problems in this area and hoped to resolve them soon. Since then i have tested products and completed surveys which i know have come to more than the minimum of the ten dollar cash out. I started doing these surveys when my husband became disabled and we needed more money without me having to travel a distance to do it. So the surveys seemed like a good idea at the time. I never had problems while Toluna was Greenfield, but now i am feeling very cheated out of my time and money. If Toluna does not bother to respond to my issue soon, and pay me what i have earned, i will have to file a complaint with the internet crimes commission. How hard can it be for a huge company to respond to my emails and send me a check for the money i have earned while putting in countless hours for this company? I do surveys for several other companies and have never had this problem.
I agree with Peter’s review on Feb 27. They were good when ‘your 2 cents’ but since then I seldom qualify. The reward points don’t add up very fast and it takes an awful lot of them to get anything.
total rip off who really qualifies?
I joined them in January 2010 and I was on a roll I did my profile and finished it all . I dont seenm to qualify for most of there surveys so Im stuck with answering the polls just to get points to cash out. 60.000 thats a lot of surveys to qualify for at first I did qualify for them but they get all of your information and your half way through thinking that you will get all of those points then they tell you the quota has been filled and say thank you for your time. Well my time is money to just like there big companies ,Im at 48.000 points and seems to me that they just dont want me to get to the 60.000 so that I can cash out. I hope that I will never get suckered into taking surveys that trick you for information just to say sorry to you . Atleast they should pay you for your time. Id rather stick with MyPoints at least they have Visa cards and gift cards and Ive cashed out with them atleast 5 times , Hey and there surveys keep pouring into my email all day so whats the point in taking the surveys? I guess I have to keep going until I reach the pay out points then Im cashing out . Good Luck everybody who just like taking surveys for nothing.Sign up with Opinion Outpost,My Points,Isay,Pinecone research,Focusline surveys,RewardPort survey,Survey head, Survey Exchange etc They have a good pay out and they pay very well . There are all free to join . Tell me what you think? Wouldnt you want to be paid for taking surveys ? Chow
There are better sites out there
Like everyone else here said, they require a HUGE amount of points to cash out. Secondly, their surveys don’t work on firefox or chrome, just IE. Thirdly, the benefit is that they have those quick polls and opinion pieces..but it’s not really worth it and you’re not getting fairly compensated for your time.
Pitiful
I’m excluded from MANY of their surveys, I suspect it’s because of my age. (I’m 79). They used to be called Greenfield, I was a member of theirs for many years, and they got to where they turned me down more often than not, too. I’m seriously thinking of sending them a Goodbye Note.
